On October 24, 2024, the pilot operation of the Rahid El Burdi water station began, utilizing solar energy. The system was supplied and installed by the Afia Initiative, in partnership with the Community Development for Progress Organization (CDPO) and with support from Saferworld.
This initiative is part of the second phase of the project to mitigate the impact of war on conflict-affected communities in South and East Darfur.
