The High Committee of Traditional Administration for Promoting Security and Social Peace in East Darfur State, in partnership with CDPO, organized a reconciliation session on August 27, 2025, between herders and farmers in the Amsgarmon area in Shaeria locality in East Darfur State. The session resolved the conflict between the Birget and Rizeigat tribes, which left seven people dead and wounded last year.
On August 28, the committee organized another session in the Alshabaka area in Yassin locality, settling another dispute between the two tribes, which claimed the lives of four people from both sides.
This is part of the Enhancing Opportunities for Women and Youth to Contribute to Peace and Security in South and East Darfur Project.
