On February 12, 2026, the Nyala Union of Persons with Disabilities distributed a number of locally produced mobility aids and canes to newly disabled individuals at the Union's offices in Nyala. This came after the Union, in partnership with the Community Development Organization, rehabilitated the only mobility aid manufacturing workshop in South Darfur in December 2025, after a hiatus of more than two years due to the theft of many of the workshop's contents and accessories during the armed conflict in Nyala. This comes as part of the fourth phase of the project to mitigate the effects of war on those affected by the conflict in South and East Darfur.
