The United Women’s Movement Initiative, with the assistance of the Preparatory Committee for Tea Sellers in Nyala, and in partnership with the Community Development Organization and with the support of the Saveworld Organization, implemented 10 grassroots sessions for tea sellers in Nyala to nominate their representatives to the founding conference of the Tea Sellers Union in Nyala. The first founding conference for tea sellers was held yesterday, Saturday, October 9, 2021, with the attendance and participation of more than 100 women who were promoted from the grassroots sessions. Ms. Haja Al-Sanousi was elected president of the Tea Sellers Union, along with 12 members of the executive committee, through a free and direct election. The total funding amounted to 422,500 Sudanese pounds.
