Base Groups Workshop in Nyala

From December 15 to 16, 2025, the Community Development Organization organized, at its office in Nyala, the capital of South Darfur, a training workshop entitled “Strengthening the role of grassroots assistance groups in learning and harvesting results.”  This is part of its ongoing organized efforts to strengthen the role of grassroots civil society and build its capacities in the areas of community organizing, voluntary work, and improving mechanisms for responding to local problems.
The workshop targeted representatives of 40 grassroots assistance groups (grassroots civil society groups) from various localities in South Darfur State, with the aim of enabling them to develop skills in planning, monitoring, data collection, and analyzing the results of community interventions, in order to ensure the efficiency of local initiatives and enhance their impact on the ground.
The workshop addressed several key areas, including grassroots planning mechanisms based on community participation, participatory learning methodologies, results analysis, report writing, and improving coordination between grassroots groups and supporting institutions.

This was part of a project to enhance opportunities for youth and women to contribute to security and peace in South and East Darfur.
