From April 23 to May 14, 2026, the Umshegaera Emergency Room, in partnership with the Community Development for Progress Organization, operated a communal kitchen for internally displaced persons (IDPs) in the Umshegeara area of Sha'iriya locality, East Darfur State.
This initiative was part of the fourth phase of the project to mitigate the effects of war on those affected by the conflict in South and East Darfur.
